Alcohol Detox Centers Across Oregon

If your drinking, or someone else's, has become an emergency in the last few days, Oregon has places you can turn. Detox here means a short stay, usually three to seven days, where staff watch you around the clock while alcohol leaves your body and treat the symptoms that come with it. Some programs are attached to hospitals, some stand alone, and some offer residential care afterward so you don't have to figure out the next step alone.

The I-5 corridor from Portland down through Salem, Eugene and Medford carries most of the state's options, but smaller communities have programs too, so you may not have to drive as far as you fear. One call to a program usually answers the two questions people ask first: whether they have a bed tonight, and whether they take your insurance. When you call, be ready to say how much and how often you've been drinking, and whether you've had seizures or shaking in past withdrawals.

That information helps them decide quickly how much supervision you need. And know this now: if you or the person you're worried about is confused, seeing things, having seizures, or has a racing heart, that is a medical emergency, and the right move is 911 or the nearest emergency room, not a detox line.

Which Facilities Report the Widest Range of Options in Oregon

These lists use only what the 188 active facilities this site lists in Oregon report to SAMHSA's FindTreatment.gov. No facility pays to be included or can ask to be moved. Call the facility to confirm everything before relying on it.
